"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything."-Plato
What I Believe:
Music is an essential part of a well-rounded education. I believe in providing a quality musical education that is structured, inspiring, and enjoyable. The teacher, the dedicated student, and the supportive parent create a powerful team that make music lessons a challenging and fulfilling experience.
A strong musical foundation is built through solid technique, aural skills, theory, and proper performance practices.
Every student has a performer inside of them. I believe regular public performances are an essential part of music lessons. Recitals are a great motivator for practice. It helps them gain experience in front of a crowd and is a way to gain recognition for their many hours of hard work. It also exposes the student to a wide variety of music and is a powerful way to show them how much their family values music.
Music lessons have benefits that extend beyond the practice room. Regular music practice teaches self-discipline, problem-solving skills, listening comprehension, goal-setting, and self-confidence.
